Director of Worker’s Compensation

Craig began his insurance career in September 1999 after graduating from the University of Arizona with an accounting degree. Not yet knowing what to do in this life he accepted a position as an Auto Claims Adjuster with 21st Century Insurance.

Craig worked as a claim adjuster for 3 ½ years. He gained a strong working knowledge of the importance of insurance, and how to protect one’s assets, which has helped him to build successful insurance career spanning now 18 years.

When a sales position/department opened up at 21st Century Insurance , he jumped at the chance to make a change. Craig led the sales team as top salesman for 22 consecutive months. This position was relocated to Texas, and wanting to stay in Arizona he was laid off. Craig having fallen in love with sales, went to work with an independent insurance agency selling all personal lines products. However, the itch to succeed further grew within him, he sought for personal and professional growth and landed a Sales Executive position with SCF Arizona.

SCF Arizona gave him a much larger playing field, where he was tasked to run a large workers compensation book of business. All facets of the business were a must learn. Loss Control, claims, sales, and underwriting of workers compensation became necessary tools in the toolbox. As it is in life, change is inevitable, Craig would see another change in his career, SCF Arizona decided to privatize the company and therefore eliminate his Sales Executive position.

Wondering what to do next, he was contacted by the owners of Southwest Risk Management, LLC for a meet and greet, where they offered him the position as their Workers Compensation Director. After accepting the position, he soon realized that his career was growing in ways he could not have anticipated. Being challenged at every turn, he dug in to learn the commercial insurance industry.

A few years ago, Southwest Risk Management and Craig decided to create a top notch Risk Management Services company. Instant success occurred,  he reached out and hired fantastically talented individuals to push the business forward. Together they focus on the Farm Ag and construction industries, and service other industries as well.

Craig enjoys coaching his  daughters in Fastpitch Softball.  11 years as a Little League Coach has helped him to develop  additional leadership qualities that serve him well in his professional life.  “The more you give, the more you grow as a person.”
